Fairy lights and cozy nights

It’s finally October! Everything is so much better now, days are getting shorter and nights longer, the weather is just perfect to go outside to spend some time sitting on the porch swing watching the sunset, and listening to all kind of sounds: birds chirping, frogs croaking, and the wind blowing through leaves. After couple of minutes spent outside breathing the so needed fresh and crispy air it’s time to go inside and get cozy!

Since the weather is so cold you can see your breath it’s such a nice feeling going inside and being welcomed by the warmth. It’s a feeling that I can associate with a tight and warm hug received from a friend you haven’t seen for a while. I cannot really put into words how that feels, but I hope everybody’s familiar with it! One thing that I love doing on this kind of days is getting tucked up in bed with a cup of tea and a good book and eventually something tasty. What can make things even cozier? Fairy lights! No, it’s not Christmas yet, but they can be used regardless of the season because they can make your room aesthetically pleasing and their flickering will lift your mood up.

When it all gets too much you need some “me time”. Find a place where you can be cozy. Spend some time with yourself, take a walk, breath, and when the night comes get cozy and lost in a book (or a movie if you’re not a bookworm). Just focus on the light even if all there seems to be is darkness. Never forget that you are valid, regardless of  what people think or say about you. Just be yourself, and do more of what makes you happy!

  1. I love this time of the year, too. Exactly for the reasons you described. I will definitely be getting lost in a good book over here. Where did you find the fairy lights? I know a lot of people use them for great bookstagram photos and I’m intrigued 🙂 Amazon?

  2. I definitely love Fall. I miss Fall on the East Coast because the days would get grey and all the trees would turn so many different colors. I absolutely love living in Colorado but “cozy” days are far and few in between with so much sun shine LOL. Great post!

  3. You perfectly described all the things I love about these fall and winter nights! Snuggling up and appreciating the warmth of a cozy home, and the twinkling lights certainly add to the ambiance! I’m tempted now to create a little reading nook at home, complete with fairy lights and flannel throw!
