20 Things I’ve Learned in 20 Years.

I was born in the hot summer of 1997 and now we’re in 2017, which means I’m… 20! I still cannot believe how fast time flies. Two decades of tears and laughter, ups and downs, love and betrayal, and mostly, two decades of learning about myself, others and the world. Here are 20 things I’ve learned in 20 years.

1. Accept and love who you are. You will live with yourself forever, why make it hard?
2. You will fail and that’s okay as long as you learn from your mistakes.
3. Not everyone is going to like you, and that’s okay too.
4. Your parents are not always right. Older doesn’t mean wiser.
5. Be yourself unapologetically.
6. Before you can walk you have to crawl.
7. Change is beautiful, allow yourself to grow.
8. You know this quote: „Life begins outside of your comfort zone”? It’s true.
9. It costs nothing to be kind, but you don’t always have to be.
10. People will mess you up and tear you down, but you are stronger than you think you are.
11. Different doesn’t mean good or bad. It means different.
12. Sometimes we all just need a little something to make us smile.
13. Blood doesn’t make you family, it makes you related.
14. You will want to disappear. Don’t. Things will get better.
15. Saying no is okay.
16. Feelings and emotions are what makes us feel alive.
17. It’s okay not to be okay.
18. Love can save you. Love the one’s who love you.
19. You never know when you might meet someone who will change your life forever.
20. One day you will die, but until then live, not just exist.
